# A store

A store's page in the app holds everything your visitors see of it: address, hours, photos, services. It is laid out like a product page in Shopify, with the main information on the left and the organization on the right.

## Create or edit a store

1. In the app, open **Stores**.
2. Click **Add store**, or a store in the list.
3. Fill in or change the fields.
4. Click **Save** in the bar at the top of the screen.

An active store is published on your online store a few seconds after you save. To see it as your visitors do, click **View** at the top of the page.

## Name, description and contact

| Field | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| **Name** | The store's name, on the map, in the list and as the title of its page. |
| **Description** | An introduction, with bold, italic, links, headings and lists. Shown on the store page. 10,000 characters at most. |
| **Phone**, **Email** | Shown on the store page; the phone, also on the store locator. Your visitors can call or write in one click. The phone is saved in international format from the store's country ("01 42 72 00 00" becomes "+33 1 42 72 00 00"); a number the app can't read is kept as you typed it, with a hint under the field. |

## Photos

The first photo is the main photo: it shows on the store locator and at the top of the store page.

1. Save the store first: you add photos once it is saved.
2. In the **Photos** card, drop your images, or click **Add photos**.
3. Choose images already in your store's files (**Content > Files**), or upload new ones.

Accepted formats: JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF or HEIC, 20 MB per image and 20 photos per store at most.

To delete a photo, click its trash icon. A photo uploaded from the app is also deleted from your files; a photo chosen from your files stays there, since it can be used elsewhere in your store.

## Address and location

1. Choose the **Country** and, for the countries that have one, the **State / province**.
2. Start typing the **Address**, then choose it in the suggestions: the postal code, city, state and location are filled in for you.
3. Check the marker's position on the small map, next to the **Latitude** and **Longitude**.

The latitude and longitude place the store on the map and sort the stores by distance. Without them, the store is not on the store locator (map and list); it keeps its page. To correct the position, drag the marker, click on the map, or enter the coordinates.

### Access

The **Access** field tells your visitors how to get there: metro, bus, car park, a landmark. It shows under the address on the store page.

As soon as the store has a location and the field is empty, the app fills it in for you with the nearest stops and car park, in your store's default language:

> Saint-Paul metro station, 1 min walk.
> Bus 69, 76, 96 at the Saint-Paul stop, 2 min walk.
> Pont Marie car park, 400 m away.

The field is then violet and marked **Suggested**. Read it, correct it if needed, then save. The cross removes the suggestion. Metro and tram lines are not included: add them yourself if you want.

## Hours

### Opening hours

For each day of the week, enter one or two slots in 24-hour format (10:00). Use the second slot for a lunch break. Leave a day empty when the store is closed.

### Exceptional hours

For a public holiday, a closure or special hours, on one day or a short period:

1. In **Exceptional hours**, click **Add a date or a period**.
2. Choose the start date (**From**) and, for a period, the end date (**To (optional)**).
3. If you like, add a **Label (optional)**, for example "Christmas": your visitors see it.
4. Tick **Closed all day**, or enter the hours for these dates.

These hours replace the week's hours on those dates only, and your visitors see them on the store page. To remove a date, click its trash icon.

:::note[Good to know]
- A period lasts 31 days at most and starts within the next 12 months. For a whole season, change the opening hours.
- Two dates or periods can't overlap.
- Past dates disappear by themselves.
- To add a public holiday to your whole network at once, see [Edit several stores at once](/docs/merchants/bulk-edits/).
:::

## Status

- **Active**: the store is published on your online store.
- **Draft**: it is hidden from your visitors. Its publishing settings are kept for the day it becomes active.

## Type and publishing

**Type**: one per store, in your own words ("Flagship", "Store", "Stockist"…). Your visitors see it, and can filter the store locator by type. Choose an existing type, or type a new one and click **Add "…"**.

**Publishing**: one box per channel, like a product's sales channels.

| Channel | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| **Store locator** | The store shows on the map and in the list of the store locator. |
| **Store page** | The store has its own page on your online store. |

A new store gets the default channels of its type, which you set in the [Settings](/docs/merchants/settings/). Then you tick what you want. Changing a store's type later doesn't change its channels.

Next to each published channel, a badge tells whether your online store is up to date: **Synced**, with the date, or **Pending**. If there is an error, the red badge gives the message. When Shopify can't be reached, the app tries again on its own.

:::caution
Unticking **Store page** removes the store's page when you save: its address will stop working.
:::

## Organization

- **Services**: what the store offers ("Click & Collect", "Eye test"…). Your visitors see them on its page and can filter the store locator by service.
- **Tags**: labels for you, to find and filter your stores in the app. The app's blocks don't show them to your visitors.

Choose a value already used by another store, or type a new one. An entry that only differs by capital letters or accents uses the existing value.

## Search engine listing

This card only shows when the store has a page. It shows the page as a search engine would display it.

To edit it, click the pencil:

| Field | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| **Page title** | The title in search results. Empty, it is the store's name. 70 characters recommended. |
| **Meta description** | The text under the title. Empty, it is the start of the description. 160 characters recommended. |
| **URL handle** | The end of the page's address, for example `paris-le-marais`. |

When you change the URL handle of a published store, the **Create a URL redirect** box is ticked: the old address leads to the new one. Untick it if you don't want a redirect.

## Shopify location

A store created from your Shopify locations, or linked to one, shows the location's name. Click it to open the location in **Settings > Locations**.

To unlink the store, click the cross, then **Unlink**. Its address and phone stay as they are. See [Import and export your stores](/docs/merchants/import-stores/).

## Statistics

Once your store has counted visits, the page shows the figures of the last 30 days: page views, directions, calls and emails, with their change. **View all statistics** opens the [Statistics](/docs/merchants/statistics/) page.

## Delete a store

1. At the top of the page, click **Delete store**.
2. If its page was online, leave **Redirect the old URL of its page to the page of…** turned on: its visitors land on the nearest store instead of an error.
3. Confirm.

Deleting can't be undone. The store disappears from your online store.

:::note[Good to know]
- The URL handle comes from the name when the store is created. If it is already taken, the app adds a number (`paris-rivoli-2`).
- A service can't contain a comma: "a, b" adds two services.
- Services are shared by your stores: typing "repairs" when "Repairs" exists picks "Repairs", and each service is translated once, in **Translations**. A service no store has any more disappears. To rename one, add the new name and remove the old one with **Edit services** on the stores that have it.
