# Sidekick

Sidekick, the Shopify admin's assistant, knows your stores and your store locator's statistics. Ask it questions in plain language, without opening the app.

## Ask a question

1. In the Shopify admin, open Sidekick.
2. Ask your question, for example "Which shops are open on Sunday in Paris?".
3. The first time, Sidekick asks for your consent to read the app's data: accept.

Each answer links to the store's page in the app or to the app's **Analytics** page.

## Example questions

About your stores:

- "Which shops are open on Sunday in Paris?"
- "How many stores are still in draft?"
- "Which stores have no photo or no hours?"
- "Which shops offer Click & Collect?"

About your statistics:

- "How many directions were asked for in the last 7 days?"
- "Which are my most clicked stores this quarter?"
- "What do visitors search for without finding anything?"
- "Have calls gone up compared to last year?"
- "Which store page is viewed the most? What is its action rate?"

To import a file that isn't in the right format:

- "Convert this file of stores to the import format of Lavia", with your file attached. Sidekick gives you a file to download, which you then import in the app. See [Import and export your stores](/docs/merchants/import-stores/).

## What Sidekick can read

| Topic | What it reads |
| --- | --- |
| Stores | The type (by which it can also filter), name, status, address, contact, hours, services, tags, number of photos, public page and publishing status. It also spots what is missing: photos, hours, coordinates, description, phone. |
| Statistics | What the **Analytics** page shows: views, directions, calls, emails, **Near me**, searches and searches without a result, with their change. It also compares with the same days last year. |
| Import format | The columns of the import file and their rules, to convert your file. |

For views, Sidekick first answers with the app's figures. For your whole store's traffic, it can also look at Shopify's analytics, and then tells you where the figures come from.

:::note[Good to know]
- Sidekick only reads: it doesn't create or edit stores. For a file to import, you import it yourself, after the preview.
- Sidekick looks for your store locator page in your theme. If it finds several, or none, it asks you which one.
- The statistics only count the visitors who accept analytics: they are a minimum. See [Statistics](/docs/merchants/statistics/).
- If you change the store pages path in the Settings, the earlier page views stay under the old address in Shopify's analytics.
